Most people have a course of treatments, and your clinician sets the number and the spacing at your free consultation. The maker describes a series of treatments without giving a number. The trials behind the US clearances used one treatment per body area, measured at twelve weeks, and up to two under the chin; in the first chin study most patients had two, six weeks apart. What one treatment did in the trials
One treatment made the fat layer 11.5% thinner on the abdomen, 13% on the flanks, 10.6% on the back, 8.0% on the inner thigh and 7.2% on the outer thigh at twelve weeks. Up to two treatments made it 15.2% thinner under the chin. Those are the figures a single course is measured against, and the twelve-week review is where we photograph the area in our practice.
When a second treatment makes sense
In our practice a second treatment of the same area can follow the twelve-week review if you want more change, and the doctor tells you plainly whether it is worthwhile. In our practice a different area can be treated in the same visit, up to four applicators at once on the body, each area priced in writing. Nothing published compares repeat intervals, so the spacing is the clinician's judgement, set with you.
